Jazz Studies

Music is something I’ve enjoyed and studied for most of my life. I began casually taking guitar lessons at age 13, then seriously studying Jazz music in high school with local private teacher Dave Smith, who ultimately established my musical foundation.

After high school I majored in Music Education and Jazz Performance at the UNT College of Music. When considering the fierce competition and grim financial prospects, I reluctantly hung up my guitar to pursue other academic interests upon completion of my freshman year.

This page is an attempt to document my most recent efforts and progress on guitar. With many detours along the way, I continue to pursue the enduring and persistent goal of becoming a better musician.
